Logically I would say it doesn't make sense that you can't pick up items while unbalanced but you can clean an entire room with corpses and items everywhere.
Practically this would make macros/scripting a lot easier for me so I can pick up stuff I want to keep before cleaning, instead of only cleaning because I'm still too unbalanced to pick up the items first.
